Hi—
Love your pride mittens! Just wondering how to do the applied i-cord? How/where did you learn this technique? Any good internet references?
many thanks!
I love in the frigid North as well! Calgary 🙂
Hi,
There seem to be a few different ways to do the applied cord. The way I like to do it is this: Cast on 3 sts. *pick up and knit 1 st along edge of mitten, slip 4 sts from right to left needle, K2, ssk*, repeat *…*
I did a quick google search – there are quite a few tutorials but I don’t see one that uses exactly this method. I hope this helps!
Happy knitting!

Hi Catherine,
Thank you for your info. I did check on the net as well—thought I’d ask what you had used. Although I have made a few i-cords I had never heard of applied i-cord. I really like the look of it on the edging. 🙂
Happy knitting to you as well!
Kelly
